This is my story…
I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. I grew up with teenage parents who kept an abusive household. After years of physical and mental abuse, my father wound up killing my mother & was sentenced to death row. I'm not sure exactly why he went to death row; but, I suspect it had something to do with the fact that he'd murdered my mom's new boyfriend only months before and was currently on trial for that when he decided he'd kill her, too. He told me not to worry, though, because he'd go get me a new mommy. (I was 6 years old).
